2022 IS IN HIS HANDS
We live in a high-pressure world. Everything is moving so fast. As you honestly look back at the past year, there were probably instances when you felt like the weight of the world was on your shoulders. I am sure you know individuals as well as families who have been under great pressure and some still are. Some are dealing with sickness, others are having money problems, while others are having trouble at work. Some have lost their homes and others lack enough food to eat. Many families are just struggling to make ends meet. The news is depressing and life is stressful.
We will persevere because of the Lord's faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-25 states:"It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." We will persevere by the grace of God. Philippians 1:6 states: "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." The Lord has everything under His control and our lives are in His care. Trust the Lord with all your heart in this coming New Year.
The men who attended the Prayer Advance on January 30 through February 1 were blessed by the Lord. They heard some great preaching and the Lord used it in their lives. They came back rejoicing and sharing with those of us who didn't attend. Their testimonies were a blessing to my heart. I wasn't able to go this year, but I am looking forward to attending next year, if the Lord allows me to go.
On Saturday February 8, 2014, the men had a special day at the church. Breakfast was provided by the church and some of the men prepared the meal. It was a delicious breakfast. After the meal, we had a time of testimonies and praises. Our Bible study was from John 15:10-14 entitled: "What A Friend We Have In Jesus." Nice prizes were award to those who won the gift.
The men shared during the 11:00 a.m.. and 6:00 p.m.. services on Sunday February 8. Those who attended the Prayer Advance shared their experiences. Others gave their testimonies about the things the Lord has been doing in their lives. At the conclusion of the evening service, we enjoyed a covered dish supper prepared by the men of the church. They fixed a delicious meal.
I loaded a few pictures of our Men's and Boy's Day and some of the men sharing their testimonies.
I am thankful for praying men and those who are ministering to the needs of other people. May the Lord raise up an army of men who follow no one but Christ.
WISE WORDS FROM CORRIE ten BOOM
We are almost into the New Year. If 2021 has taught us anything it is this, we have no idea what this coming year may hold for any of us. We need to remember what Corrie ten Boom said, "Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God." The wise will seek the face of the Lord and live for Him. When we live in His will, we can face our tomorrows without fear. We will consider three things in being ready for the New Year. We need to prepare our hearts, make the Word of God a priority, and persevere in faith.
