LIVING FOR THE LORD
David prayed in Psalm 39:4-6: "LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am. Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.
Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them."
A wise person lives a life that is prepared to meet the Lord. He/she knows that death can occur at any moment. The wise know they have an appointment with death.
The person of wisdom who has trusted Jesus as his Savior can live out his days with confidence in God. A person who is prepared for life can say, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21)
We are to live out our days worshipping the Lord until He comes for us. Once we are in heaven, we will worship the Lord throughout all eternity.
Operation Christmas Child is one of the great ministries that have reached children around the world. We are thankful that our church has been part of this outreach. We have already started working on the shoe boxes for 2018. In 2017, our church fixed 1,800 boxes. We are praying that the Lord will provide the funds for us to prepare even more boxes. We would like to have the largest number of shoe boxes ever. We know the children enjoy their school supplies and gifts, but it is our prayer that many of these children will be saved. We have people who are willing to fix the shoe boxes as the Lord provides the money. I am thankful for those who labor so children and their families may have the privilege of hearing the gospel. Please pray for this worthy project that God will be glorified.

A PURPOSEFUL LIFE.
Charles Stanley: "Wisdom is the capacity to see things from God's perspective and respond according to scriptural principles."
Solomon wrote, "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." (Proverbs 4:7)
We cannot live a purposeful life that is successful without the wisdom of God. The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. When we do God's will with the wisdom He provides, we can live a life of purpose for His glory and our good.
Paul wrote in Ephesians 5:15-17: "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is."
